I dont' know what it would do to the grass but if you sprayed just the mounds and around the parimeter of the house, pens, coop and outbuildings it shouldn't hurt. My chickens don't eat ants so I don't worry about them eating it and it drys fast out of the can.

I had some ants marching on my patio deck trying to crawl in a crack underneath my sliding glass door... so I poured some rubbing alcohol in the crack and took baking soda and powdered the whole area that they were walking on and they were gone within 30 mins~ hmmmmm looks like that worked!
