OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

My husband is the assistant manager of the Tractor Supply in Heath OH. They sell pullets and straight run. They get one shipment of pullets each week. It goes on for 10 weeks. They're usually pretty accurately sexed as far as the pullets go. They obviously come straight from the hatchery already in their individual boxes (pullets, SR) so the sexing is done at the hatchery, not tractor supply.

Nice to know, thanks, been misinformed by others. I should check Tractor supply again. I went there 4x few weeks ago, and they didn't have the chicks.

Hey everyone! I am new to this so please be kind with my chicken stupidity. I have 6 ISA Brown "pullets" just under 3 wks old. I was reading that since the are sex link, the females will be brownish red and the males white. We purchased them as sexed female chicks. My concern is that as they are feathering in, a few of them look much leso red than the others. Could it be I have roos? I snapped this picture of them before I cleaned their "brooder" tonight. Let me know what you think please!!!

Hello! I know I'm a bit late to respond but don't panic about your chickens with more white. We got four ISA Browns from the Bowling Green TSC and one had a lot more white. We thought she was a rooster for a super long time but she is a sweet little hen. She has way more white than brown so don't be worried.
It also sounds like we live sort of close to each other. We live between Grand Rapids and Bowling Green and it sounds like you live in Findlay. Good luck and welcome to the world of chickens! :)

Can anyone help? I have these 2 babies out of my 12 that I thought were for sure roo's. I am second guessing myself on the white one. They are 5-6 weeks old. My hubby picked them out of the straight run bin at Rural King. I thought the white one might be a jersey giant but it has green legs, Easter egger maybe??

Thanks!

The black one looks like a rooster to me. It might be a Jersey Giant. I'm not sure about the white one's gender or its breed. It looks really big from the pictures. Good luck! :)

Just a reminder for those in the southwest part of the state. The Dayton Fancy Feather Club will be holding their spring swap this Sunday, at the Preble County fairgrounds from 6am to 1 pm.

I always wanted to go to one of the shows or swaps. They sound like fun! What are they like?

I think I have the DH convinced to going to the Nationals this November. I wanted to go last year, but with the AI scare....well...
