OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

If they are paying 1.00 they are probably buying from the Amish, and that's OK. I hope they realize that they don;t know how old, and to be sure they are not kept in the frig for storage.
As you know if your from Coshocton, Local Bounty has my eggs, Windy Hill Berry Farm and Vineyard and we sell them for 2.75. Strawberry Hill has organic and sell for 3.00.
We can not reuse cartons( State Health Regs) so we have and added cost of 35/carton etc. Add up your costs and you will find your labor isn't worth much.
I would like to see more of y our posts.

I'm pretty sure meeting is in our future.... We have been asked to do something for Local Bounty that I am considering. If so, my eggs will be there too. I don't look at it like competition because it seems they sell out and Soccer season hasn't even begun at Lake Park. I may sell eggs, Freedom Ranger Chickens and Tamworth Pork over there if I decide to get that involved.

Does anyone get started pullets? We don't wanna raise them. And has anyone got a check from polk ohio?

I used to buy all my chicks from Meyer Hatchery in Polk, and I really liked them. My friend bought their started pullets, and the only thing she didn't like was that they trim the top beaks. It really made the hens look ugly. I really don't like that.

Hi neighbors! From Glenmont, OH (western Holmes county...middle of nowhere).

One of my call duck hens is sitting on a nest....fingers crossed - last 2 times they sit for about 18 days or so then decide to leave the nest.

Maybe she'll stay this year!

Howdy fellow Buckeyes! Are there any poultry clubs in the Central Ohio area? I would love to gather with fellow chicken lovers to compare notes "in person"...also, any suggestions on where to find a listing of poultry shows in the Tri-state area?

Thanks bunches from CARDINGTON! WOO-HOO!
