OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

We're in Lebanon, Warren County, between Cincy and Dayton.
Just getting started with chickens, first time.
Welcome to the Forum! Lots of great information and friendly people to help get you started. Best of Luck! We are in Shelby County between Dayton and Lima. I know there is a South West Ohio Chicken Club on MeetUp.com that gets together. I think some of them are on here as well.

Hello All! I am MUCH further north of everyone! In the Toledo area right up on the Ohio/Michigan border. I am a Silkie/Showgirl (bearded of course) addict but finding it quite challenging to find quality breeders (or any breeders at all) around here. Hate to have. "Egglets" shipped but that's what I've been doing. Fingers crossed for a good hatch this time around! =) Nice to meet you all!
Welcome!!!!

So DH must have relented on the "15 is enough" statement! Good for you! Where are you getting your new stock from? You are getting some cool birds!!! Definitely want to compare with your Lavenders. Saw another one is going blue/lav too! PM me your number and I'll get down there to see your girls. Wednesday?

I went to Rural King tonight and they had squat. 3 RIR pullets and assorted straight run that I couldn't identify so that was a no-go.

Going to TSC in the morning since I need more chick food anyway. Hopefully they'll have their new shipment. I was told this was the last. I've been calling 5 different ones I'm willing to drive to and can't find what I want. They had them earlier in the year, hopefully they'll be back around!

I have been getting hatching eggs. I will be glad to share my sources with you.

I live in Leroy Township, Lake County that's 40 miles east of Cleveland. Being near Lake Erie it's been so cold. Hoping the weather warms up soon. I will be needing to get the young chickens out of the basement before they get to big.

A week with my new girls and we are having fun. This morning I came upon the brooder and they were still sleeping. Funny thing is they were all in a row. Straight as you please!

SW Ohio here, and my cute little baby chicks have been replaced by these teenage chicks that are getting too big for their brooder

I hope it warms up at night soon, or they will be in for a shock when they go outside into the coop
