SW Ohio here, and my cute little baby chicks have been replaced by these teenage chicks that are getting too big for their brooder

I hope it warms up at night soon, or they will be in for a shock when they go outside into the coop

I live in Leroy Township, Lake County that's 40 miles east of Cleveland. Being near Lake Erie it's been so cold. Hoping the weather warms up soon. I will be needing to get the young chickens out of the basement before they get to big.

Just sharing one of our little fluffballs we picked up at TSC today. We couldn't find any more Speckled Sussex so we are going to give New Hampshire Reds a try. Also got what I think are going to be white leghorns and 2 Buff Brahma Bantams for the kids.

There was room in the brooder... what else are you going to do? LOL

My sister gifted me a couple of silkies that she purchased at the Lucasville swap over the weekend. But she, in her fluffy cuteness induced stupor, did not get ANY information on the birds aside from age. She said "they looked like nice people". lol I've posted some pics of them in a couple of different places on the forums, inquiring about their sex. But it just occurred to me that if I post a pic to this thread, there might be a slim chance that someone here sold her the birds or knows where they came from. Hey, I believe in chicken miracles.

WEEK OLD CHICKS FREE TO A GOOD HOME

We have to move and our 7 week old chicks are still in the brooder. I am in Cincinnati area and they need to go fast. The brooder can go with them as we don't know if chicks are in our future at the new place.

We have:
Barred rock (2)
Golden laced Wyandotte
Buckeye
Welsummer
Black Australorp
Golden Buff

I am so bummed but without the house and yard, chicks are out of the question.

Hi kathychick. Sorry to hear that you are having to rehome them. Let me text Hubs to see if is ok with adding some more chicks. Wish I would have known this yesterday! We just added 10 to our brooder. Also, is there any way you could meet me in Middletown or thereabouts?

Thanks chickawawa. ill probably get yelled at for a minute for it, but my DH's new dirt bike will take his mind off of it really quick. I have 8 that have to be move to a coop and then I just have to swap put my new 6 in a brooder and ill be all set. Just let me know Kathychick.
