Okay, I totally dont get silkie genetics
I know white can "cover" an awful lot, color-wise, but how on earth did I cross a white roo and blue hen and get one partridge and one deep red chick??? (This was not, btw, an intentional cross -- they're just all in one pen together). Dang, I may have to keep the silkies just to see what pops out!
And my Gen2 serama pullet just laid her first egg today -- coolest part of all was I was standing right there when she dropped it! Heard a small "thunk" from the nesting box, looked, and... yup! First egg!

I'm simply not set up for it, and I'm straining my neighbors' tolerance as it is...
Setup? Pfft. My 15 share a kiddy pool and a feed bucket, and sleep in the chicken coop.
