Yep, it was me that called. Lol. I bought one of the snowy drakes from the guy in the older red truck that had tons of good looking calls. I'm sitting here watching them play in a water tub right now. They seem happy and fairly calm. Got their wings clipped. Now i need to do toenails, but that might be another day project. Don't want to stress them out to much. I ran into so many people I knew it wasn't funny! People were looking at me funny when the Amish guy just started having a full blown conversation with me. Lol, he knew me from work. I'm so thrilled over these ducks! I bought the silvers cause they are pretty, sad right? That was a long day, and I was only there 3 hours. LOL. Oh my aching back! I looked around for you, Mandy (and Brian!) but I don't think I could have found you if you were wearing a Barney costume! That crowd was INSANE. I thought of you everytime I saw calls lol especially the one guy selling nice snowies. Oh! Was it you that tried to call a couple times?? Everytime I caught it, it was too late. I tried to call back but it didn't go through for some reason. It showed up as Columbus so I thought maybe it was my sis' new house number. I'm sorry! It would have been nice to have a walking buddy so I didn't walk around looking like an idiot talking to myself.
I did come home with a chicken-sized rocking chair to adorn the coop interior (I'm dying to see one of them sitting in it.. baha), a nice pair of black runner ducks, a pair of modern game bantams (yay!) and a single silver Sebrite hen who I am now strongly suspecting is a rooster..which is ok too, but he sure had me fooled..very feminine looking roo. I was going to use a hen in a NN cross, but since I have both sexes, it'll still work. Almost took home some button quail (oh me! so cute!)..and a bunch of other gorgeous breeds..and guineas..and a turkey..and puppies..LOL, but I restrained myself.
And the reason my back hurts so bad is I walked around the entire grounds 3 times looking desperately for the showgirls. They weren't there! Not a single one. Ugh. I'll have to find them somewhere else I guess..
Oh yeah, I'm dying to see that chicken rocking chair being used. Hilarious! That was a long day, and I was only there 3 hours. LOL. Oh my aching back! I looked around for you, Mandy (and Brian!) but I don't think I could have found you if you were wearing a Barney costume! That crowd was INSANE. And that was after a half hour drive (er, crawl) down a 2 mile road! I thought of you everytime I saw calls lol especially the one guy selling nice snowies. Oh! Was it you that tried to call a couple times?? Everytime I caught it, it was too late. I tried to call back but it didn't go through for some reason. lol, the Amish ride in group vans drove by "us"to get there. Except of course the 3 that rode their bicycles there.I think almost half the crowd was Amish. LOL. I always wonder where they "park" unless they make a rare exception to the no cars rule for swap days. They're pretty friendly folks.
I must officially be a recluse if I live right here and only ran into one person in thousands that I knew, then.
Sad for buying pretty birds? Pish! Isn't that what everyone there was doing? Including me.
I will carry the camera with me and get pics of the first bird I see rocking. LOL.
