Where are you moving to? I am in Greenville, in Darke County. I should (hopefully!) have B/B/S Silkies and B/B/S Orpingtons (chicks) this Spring.

I'm from the Kingston, Ohio area, not right in town, but out, so I have lots of space for my chickens. Kingston is northeast of Chillicothe.

I started reading this thread and gave up when I got to about page 3. Lots of folks here in Ohio seem to have chickens. I also presently have a pig.

I raise chickens for eggs and meat, mostly for eggs. They also sometimes become pets at least for a time.

At times we have more people wanting eggs, than we have to sell. Especially during the holidays. We sell them for $1.50 but if we had more and graded them, we could probably get more for the super sized ones. Egg cartons don't seem big enough for some of the eggs from the Golden Comet hens.

The only place around us I have been able to find that has chicks are chain stores... When I called to ask what kind of chicks they were going to have the associate said "Umm I'm not sure, they're just chicks" ....

Hey guys!
I'm from south central ohio, about an hour each from cinci,columbus,and dayton. I have about one hundred chickens
But I promise I'm not a chicken hoarder.......

Does anyone know anything about sc bird farm in mercer county?

SC bird farm is on here often, great guys!!! I've visited their flock many times. They're about 10 miles west of me.
