I have a pair of Blue Barred Rock from DMRippy that I would like to sell. They are about 3 months old.

I'm in Union County. At the top of the county. about 16 miles west of Marion, 20 miles north of Marysville. I don't know how far Wapak is from me. I am interested in your pair.

A few questions for the list. As I mentioned I'm planning to add to my flock this comming year. My DH wants a Few Buckeyes. Why I asked and he says because they were bred in/for Ohio. DUH! lol. Anyhow other than the blue orps, blue americanas, blue copper marans I am looking at, I am also looking at Red Sussex, barred rocks and favorelles. First question: Can you put Favorelles in a mixed flock or is it better to keep them separate?
Question 2: Really want to add barred rocks but was hoping to find some blues. Anyone know where I could find them? Last Question: Anyone ever had red sussex? Looking for info to see if they would be a good addition to a mixed flock. Thanks for any info.

I would highly recommend Buckeyes. I have half a dozen hens and one Buckeye roo. They are the sweetest chickens in my flock. They were in the yard the other day and I went out to toss some scratch and fill up the feeder and actually stepped on one hen's foot, they crowd me that close. My Hamburgs keep their distance, but the Buckeyes are big sweeties.

And they lay nice brown eggs and the cockerels taste delicious with noodles or dumplings. Ate two Hamburgs yesterday and they made a nice, dark stock which went over well with my son. He likes dark meat, but it took two of them to fill the crock pot. Hopefully, by the end of the month, I'll be down to just one Hamburg roo, 4 Hamburg hens, my Buckeyes and 2 Barred rock hens. I still have a batch of home made noodles left over I need to get rid of...

They are feisty little guys. Crazy as June bugs, but I worry the least about then over all my other chickens. Most self-reliant of any birds I've ever had. The only losses I had from the chicks I got from Meyer were to the dog that played just a little too rough with them when they were little, but they were all super independent and were roosting in our mulberry tree from about 4 weeks on.

I had to pick up one from Meyer just because they're so pretty, Marengoite! I've got my big mixed laying flock (all Meyer stock) in one pen, and it's a colorful bunch! The other pens are reserved for my breeder birds, currently incubating
