OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

You are tempting me very badly cluckitall, very badly.

I would be more than happy to wait. If I bring another breed of chicken on the place I think my wife will kill me. Spring 2014 would be even better because then I can slip them in with my own eggs and she'll never know the difference. LOL.

LOL! I hear that :) I'm trying to get a few new breeds up into this corner of the woods, so yeah, that might be doable

With this cold snap I have been putting vasaline on my girls combs to help prevent frost bite. The first night when they went into the dog house I couldn't get to them to do this. I think some might have some mild frostbite but not sure. How can you tell? What I am seeing is some of the tips on some of the birds look pale now when the rest of the comb looks red. Can some one tell me what I need to be looking for? Anyhow, I thought I would have a hard time doing this by myself but they have been really good about letting me pick them up and applying it to their combs. Another unexpected thing is I have to keep the lid on the jar inbetween applying it to each bird as I have 1 girl who has decided she likes the taste of vasaline. :sick Maybe shes trying to get those eggs to slide out easier. :p Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge with this newbie. :D

the pic is of one of my Easter eggers. I drove up to Meyer and picked them up. I got 2 Easter eggers, a barred rock, a blue laced red Wyandotte, and a Rhode Island Red.... Henrietta, Emma, Olive Oyl, amelia, and ruby. :)
