OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

the pic is of one of my Easter eggers. I drove up to Meyer and picked them up. I got 2 Easter eggers, a barred rock, a blue laced red Wyandotte, and a Rhode Island Red.... Henrietta, Emma, Olive Oyl, amelia, and ruby.

Limeloft, you and I seem to think alike! I also drove to Meyer to pick up my new chicks (last month, December 17th.) And I also have an Easter Egger (Hazel), Barred Rock (Pebbles), and Blue Laced Red Wyandotte (Moneypenny). No RIR though, but a Black Aussie (Koko), Buff Orp (Amy Pond), Buff Brahma (Professor Song) and White Jersey Giant (Pearl).

Will be driving back to Meyer April 29th to pick up another order - 1 White Sultan and 1 Welsummer. Still deciding on a third breed to add to that order.

Good luck with your new chickies during this wicked weather we're having in the Buckeye State! Just turned the heatlamp off my 5 week olds last night and will be transitioning them to their new coop in about 2 weeks ... unless it consistently stays in the low single digits.

Have fun!

On another note, I fed them warm oatmeal this morning along with their regular feed and some scratch. Drama, my Golden Comet was eating the warm oatmeal then all a sudden took off like a shot for the coop. As soon as she was inside she started chattering as she headed for the nesting boxes. Reminded my of a little kid trying to make it to the bathroom in time.

Made me laugh. Nothing like fiber to get the ol' system working

I might see you at Meyer on the 29th then! HaHa! I too might be picking chicks up that day, or on March 11th!

**wistful sigh** Still trying to make legbars happen! Seems to me, though, that I've got an order of eggs coming this spring from someone...

Hmmm..........wonder who that could be?

TheCrazyChick, I'm getting mine from babymakes6 this spring :) You could drop her a pm and see if she'll have more available.
Absolutely! I got the first egg the other day when I went to Rachael's to take care of her birds. Unfortunately, it was frozen and had cracked.

I LOVE the red crele look of the Rhodebars. But I'm still not willing to drop the kind of money Greenfire farm is asking for to get an order of chicks.
We have those too-$15 per pullet, $5 per cockerel (that is also the price for the Legbars).
Hi everyone!

I am sooo happy to have found this community. My first group of chicks are hanging out in my basement right now.
