OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

I spent all evening devising ways to help Cornish (I told DH if she/he makes it, her name will be Derpy :p) and Frankenchicky stand up, since all they do left to their own devises is topple over and roll around. I had a mess in the bathroom floor of pipe cleaners, glue, tape, scissors, felt, craft sticks, kiddo's toy cars and pieces I yanked off them lol.
Here's what I settled on for Cornish. It looks like some kind of torture device, but she actually seems happier in it vs spending most of her time on her back and she can actually walk if she tries.

I tried a lot of contraptions for Frankenchicky to find what helped her/him/it move best.
We tried a small-scale version of Cornish's Derpmobile, unsuccessfully. Frankenchicky just wanted to lie flat..:

We tried a sled, unsuccessfully. It was a bit heavy for her to move:

Then we tried a baby walker-style, much better:

Made a few minor adjustments, and we have the special kids nursery:

The two curly-toes quail joined the others. Took the tape shoes off and they worked perfectly - no curly toes! And the fav girls gave me one more egg today that I tossed in the bator with the other one. I can manage a one-day difference if they turn out to be fertile.

Not that anyone needs a daily-life update, just thought someone might be interested in the chick-mobiles/wheelchairs/carts/things. :) I probably should just start a thread for Frankenchicky and Derpy..

Omg, i love it. Kudos! I need one for a juvie Salmon favorelle roo. He has a crooked leg and it was one if those i tried to fix to no success. He had survived though and is now 17.5 weeks old. I figured if he had the will, I would micro manage his life so he didnt get trampled.

Yeah, i think pipe cleaners are not quite heavy enough. I kept him in a rabbit cage with some bantam orps and he seems happy. He's getting big though!

That works! As long as he's happy. :D Nothing at all against those that would cull the wonky ones, but I'm sure he's happier crooked and alive than in someone's stomach. :p

If you ever did have to go the route of chicken-mobile, you could probably come up with something from thin PVC pipes. :}

the crooked side. I need to get video of how fast he is hopping along. He uses the crooked leg as a crutch, but still moves along great.
