Have I jinxed myself?

Going on year 6 with these silly, addictive birds and last year I ended up keeping my first cockeral, a Blue Copper Marans (splash) from my order of straight run chicks (ended up with 12 out of 21 chicks being boys...rolling of eyes here...). Anyways, he's been a wonderful guy, respectful to humans, good to the girls, sometimes a little too exuberant for some of the older ladies so they set him straight...In the meantime, in the bantam pen, little "Guac," my lovely blue Silkie hen, has once again gone her broody way.

Yea, you got it...I stuck 5 eggs from the big girls under her five days ago, three from my Maran girls (Blue Copper) and two from my EE's....sooo, of course, Ohio's lovely spring lasted two whole days. Then the frigid cold arrived, again, and poor Guac is determinedly still sitting on these lovely aggs. I have successfully raised a LOT of day old chicks, from hatcheries, breeders, and the local feed store, but hatching them myself, with Guac's help...well....AM I nuts? I don't even know if Big Sexy (dd named him...) is shooting blanks! IF this is a success I'd get three pure Blue Copper Marans and two Olive Eggers...but they'd probably all be boys. Sigh.
I repeat...am I nuts? :)
Guess it's too late to go back now....2 1/2 weeks, March 31st-ish is the hatch date....arrrggghhh!

Exciting!!! Will she let you candle them?? I LOVE broodies...and try not to let them go to waste. I have 4 of them sitting on eggs right now

Little breezy at your place too ?

Crazy windy here. Plan was to sort out some young birds today, to take to Lima tomorrow. Can't talk myself into thinking standing out there under the big old trees for any length of time is worth it today.
