Hi, new to this site, new to raising chickens and new to Ohio. We just moved to Brown county all the way from Massachusetts and have decided to start raising chickens for eggs and meat. We've ordered some chicks from Meyers hatchery, they should arrive in a few days, and a friend just offered us a rooster. He's a handsome bird and we agreed to take him but they aren't sure what breed he is and being new to this I figured I'd get some opinions. I'm leaning towards a Rhode Island Red or maybe a New Hampshire red, but not 100% sure. Thanks in advance, already loving this site!
