OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

They're still in quarantine but doing good! Can't wait to let them mingle with the flock! Working on finding a treat they like, so far learned they don't like strawberries and hate scrambled eggs lol.

So it looks like we'll be ordering more chicks this year. 25 of my 27 Meyer babies are still fine (well, save for one lame SLW that I can't bring myself to put down yet) and have been in the coop for a few days now, but both of the polish (the only two we got) suddenly passed away just a few days apart, the last one about 30 minutes ago. :( DH got ridiculously attached to them and when the first one died he said he was going online to order more, then changed his mind when he saw the price and said he would if anything happened to the second one. So I expect he'll be setting up an order for 15-20 polish tonight. Exciting, but so sad to lose the two little girls we had. They has so much personality. Nothing really against Meyer, but just incase something is up with that strain, I think we're going to try Cackle this time.

and to the Ohio Thread!! Excited for you! Having a flock of chickens is so much fun! They are relaxing! When we obtained our first ones, we would set our lawn chairs out next to their pen and just watch. AAHHH the simple things in life!!

I hope so!

Anybody figuring to go to the swap at Eaton this Sunday ?

Which one is this? I would love to go to one this spring, but our weekends are committed this month. Is it only on Sunday? I could go on Monday, but they probably don't run on weekdays. Oh Well, I really don't need to go as I have all the chickens we can handle at this time. At last count we had 31. This is the most we have ever had and poor DH had to redo our coops a little to accommodate them all.

I have a couple of handsome silkie roos I need to sell if anyone is interested!!

I posted pics of them on page 770 of this thread. One is white and the other is reddish-orange. They have a sweet temperament. They are about 7 months old and I purchased them from blessedchick on this thread. I just sold the show-girl roo and the 1 and only little buff hen to ShayBaby this past weekend. We just haven't got the housing for them that we anticipated. They are currently in our hoop house which was great for the winter, but as it warms up, it will get to hot for them. I also want to turn it into a couple of breeding pens for my black copper marans and my buckeyes before it gets to warm. So If anyone is interested, pm me.
