Well, poor thing would be mighty disappointed pointlessly sitting her life away for almost a month lol. I'm not really sure about this since I've only had a handful go broody myself and decide halfway through they weren't ready to be moms after all, but I know there's a few good threads around here somewhere on how to break a broody. The water bucket method, for example. Hehe.
We put broody chickens in a separate little dog cage. They just need to lay 1 egg or go 2 days, which ever happens first, then let them back out. Works every time for us.

Lol, water bucket method! please explain more in detail for possible future need. :) :)
lol As I understand it, at least, you dunk her about halfway in a big bucket of cool water. Supposedly the need to dry and preen herself afterwards outweighs the need to sit eggs and may distract her long enough to forget about the nest.
couple new pictures from our lil ole hobby farm
Great pics! That roo in pic #1 is gorgeous! Do you know what he is, or a mix? And the smiling scovies..too cute. :)

I've heard this works well, too! Interesting, I keep a crate inside the coop for situations that require separation, and a couple of my broodies decided the crate made an excellent nest and stayed at it even when the door would close and they were trapped inside.
