Some times it's just best to acknowledge when a situation is not salvageable and sharpen the hatchet. In the long run you will be better off.

Proper managing of livestock requires some tough decisions, and actions, some times.

well I have finally decided the hatchet it is. sadly but they are too aggressive anymore and I can't let them teach it to the chicks who I won't let near them. 9 week old mixed flock.

Howdy!
I wondered who might be coming to the Chicken Swap at Champion Feed in Delaware this Sunday? It's combined with a horse Tack Swap and they've been doing quite a bit of promoting...and weather even looks good for Sunday so might be a good one to attend?
I'm going to be there with my extra cockerals in case anyone is looking for some well bred guys (Chocolate Orpington, Light Sussex, Blue Copper Marans, and possible "real" Ameraucana, if the 'he's' give me a sign that they're 'he's!' ) Along with some extra horse tack I no longer use...should be a nice afternoon!

And here's a couple of of my guys, Light Sussex...$12

And one of my Chocolate Orpingtons (will mature around 5lbs, between bantam and LF) $25

Healthy all winter n nice to get the Harley out n 102 temp. %$#@! its very bad, lasts over a week and turns into chest cold or worse.Pray you all don't get it. I still am not sure how I did feeding and watering yesterday, but I did. Still have flocks separated I have to make some calls yet.Hubby doesn't want to process at home, I am wondering where his farm mentality went. Must been too many years off the farm for it.Sigh.
