On another note, I have 3 silly broody hens now. Makes gathering eggs to ship out early next week for a swap nigh impossible..the little hoarders. Yesterday while Archibald (NN hen) left her nest for a water run, I watched Honey (Buff Brahma bantam) roll a few of Archie's eggs a few inches away (in the "community" nest box). Archie apparently never noticed or felt like sharing (a good possibility since she was struggling trying to cover 10 LF eggs

), because last night they were sitting pressed against each other, incubatin' away. Honey has a rep for being an egg abandoner, so we'll see how long it takes her to be bored with motherhood this time.

Well I use to be from Lancaster Ohio but relocated now I am in Rockbridge and starting a new flock I am suppose to pick them up tomorrow but things are not going as planned. I will figure it out. I had to give up my last flock to come here to take of aging parents. One of them passed and now I want my chickens back. So day three of building a new coop was a wash out here. I guess tomorrow is another day. Anyone out here close to me?

well I wanted to go to the swap but my back had other plans. so yeah we didn't go, sigh.I am getting sick of not being able to move. MRI last week n I meet surgeon 22nd of July. I really wanted to. guess I will try my luck at the fair in Aug.

We have the Caesar Creek swaps every 2nd and 4th Sundays till into the fall.

Big Fat SPFLD here..... Township and happy of it too!!!! Can have my whole flock of Pekins and Rhode Island Reds. Adding to the flock with peafowl and guineas soon.... maybe next spring.......
