OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

I called the police non emergency line and they said I could trap it but I thought I read somewhere about not being able to relocate them... He said if we weren't on a monitored line and standing there with him he would offer other advice lol

My .22lr rounds aren't that loud so maybe I'll go that route

Thanks minihorse927

True, most of us who are lucky enough to live outside city limits would prefer you don't relocate pests or pets to our neck of the woods. :D But if you trap it and you know someone outside city limits, ask them if you can come over put down the opossum. Or if you have a barrel or something you can fill with water then drop the cage in it with opossum in cage. Depending on your budget, there are pellet guns that are sufficient to take out a opossum.

yes, please do NOT relocate it. I was trying to be nice with the word "dispose"

You can shoot a critter in Lucas Cty if they are 'ill', i.e. distemper or rabies, authorities gave us permission to quickly 'dispatch' a raccoon that displayed symptoms of distemper. So I am going to say this opossum must have distemper or it would not be 'hanging around your house'. Quick and clean, I could never live with myself if I did not dispatch an animal in a non-suffering way.

Catch it with a live trap by using marshmallow cream and the take it to a public hunting ground like Cesar Creek and release it.

Egg celent, just and FYI incase you have not seen them. Hollow point pellets work great on groundhogs! Lil bugger was trying to dig under the barn floor.
