OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

I have 7 guineas that need new homes. 4 males and 3 females. They are white and pearled. I also have a barred rock Roo that needs a home. He is about 1 yr old. He can come with up to 6 hens If interested. We are moving and I will be unable to take them all with us. Is there anyone who could take care of these for me? They are used to free ranging. These are please for pets and eggs only. I am a vegetarian and would feel terrible if they were used for meat. I live an hour south of Columbus, OH. Please contact me directly if you are able to help me out. I'm willing to drive several hours to facilitate their re-homing. They are free to a good home. Free insulated coop can be included if needed. It has perches and nest boxes. Currently Guineas and Roo are all living together in this coop. Has room for more and will include heat lamp too! Email: [email protected] or text at 512-636-7724.

I could take them if you haven't found anyone else. I'm in Southern Ohio, Lawrence County. We don't eat our chickens at all (even the roosters who deserve it). My mother, my 6 year old son, and myself would be their caretakers so they would have to be 100% not aggressive toward humans.

Hi folks! New member here, living in Clinton, Ohio (Summit County). I found a chicken in downtown Akron today and I'm housing her until I can find her home. If no one claims her, I'd love to give her to someone local who can take proper care of her. Please let me know if you're interested!

I'm looking forward to connecting with locals, as I hope to have my own chicken (and quail) flock some day.

It seems you may have already started. ;)

No, I'm too unprepared! I am hoping I can find her people, or get her settled in a new home. :) I really want to build a coop for when I'm ready for my first flock, and I have no time for that currently.
There have been a lot of posts about "finding" chickens recently.
You can always post her picture here and a general location of where you found her
Also FB has area groups or farm groups. You could try there too.
If not I'm sure someone from here will take her. We are all crazy chicken people. LOL

I need crazy chicken people, right now! xD

I have posted some notices (a 'found' post and rehoming ones) and no responses yet. I have a few more places I can advertise her, although I plan to hold her until the weekend just in case someone is missing her.

If I can figure out a way to build a coop cheaply, I might be able to persuade my husband to let me keep her. But I'm not holding out hope since I have so little time to build.

Once chicken doesn't take up much space. A dog crate in the garage or shed and she'd be safe and happy.
Always bring up the free eggs! That's usually a winning point.

A safe place with a roof over her head and she’ll be a happy chicken.
