OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Hey all, if anyone is interested in table birds I'll have a steady supply of Bresse and Marans cockerels at 8 weeks + over the course of this season, average batch size will be 15-25 in a group, half way to table sized for most of them. Since the first test hatch yielded 22 boys out of 31... I figured I could share the wealth. I'm in SW Ohio, NE from Cincinnati. I'll need to hold back about 75 for us over a 6 month span... the rest will be available. PM if you're interested.

Do any of you guys sell eggs and what are you charging? We were charging 1.50 per dozen, 1.25 each for two dozen or more. Originally, people were looking at us like they thought that was expensive. Now, people are beginning to ask us for eggs, and they're looking at us like they think that's cheap. Ohio is notoriously cheap, so what d'ya think?
I feel like $3 is fair. If they are willing to pay 3-4 for grocery store production eggs it should be that much for farm fresh!

Our local Kroger has regular Large eggs for $0.79 - 0.99 much of the time. Sometime $1.29. Last week, they were $0.59 per dozen.

But they also have the various other choices: brown, organic, free-range, etc. higher cost, of course.

So, not a money maker to sell eggs here...maybe a bit of feed cash. Backyard chicken eggs go for $1.50 /dz usually in this area.

Free Light Brahma Cockerel...... hatched first week of August......got it from Meyers hatchery.....we are in Mansfield

Hello y’all!! I’m inquiring about Silver Appleyard eggs..I won’t be needing or shall I say wanting eggs until sometime May (give or take and depending when can find etc)but am having difficulty finding what I want!! I know they are considered Threatened on the list but dang they can’t be this hard to find:flDoes anyone have these ducks and will have fertile eggs around this time they would be willing to ship/sell? I figure I’ll need six to eight eggs and I plan on keeping three most likely a drake and two ducks..depending on hatch rate/sex etc..Thank You!! I would also consider buying ducklings if anyone is planning a hatch though I am new to hatching and would love to hatch my own ducks

Southern tip of Ohio here. Lawrence County, very small town north of South Point Ohio. We just bought a 23 acre farm, and since we are retired, we are looking into animals that would be easy for us to raise. I raised chickens, ducks and pigs as a kid, I love animals. So as we fill our farm, we will share our stories, photos, triumphs and failures. Hi all, hoping to make friends.
My family is in South Point :)
