OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

I bought straight run. I already see a lot of females. :jumpy Good morning and have a wonderful day.
I hope that you have had a wonderful day and that most of your ducklings turn out to be Hens. I am hoping for hens if I get to get these two Runner Ducks. One has already hatched out but I don't know how many people are ahead of on the list of wanting them. Have a good evening Mark.

Good morning Mark. Raining here but at least it's not snow
Mark, I know you have Mallards. Have you ever had a Hen eat the eggs? I got her some Oyster Shell and she has good feed in the pen with her. I found two outside the whole pen and then this morning one in her tall water bucket broken open and empty! The eggs more than likely belong to her Sister that left the pen so she has been sitting tight on them. They are due to hatch on May 10th if any are left. What are your thoughts. This is her first time sitting and she has been sitting tight on this nest like she knows what she is doing.

Sometimes the Swans will eat unfertile eggs. I have seen it with my own eyes. I went over and checked the shells, and they were stinking rotten. The one in the water bucket brings racoons to mind
they always try to wash their food.

Has anyone visited Meyer to get some "Bin Chicks"? What is that like?

No, I'm not suffering from chicken math at all...

Also, @swampfox440, no hummingbirds well east of Columbus yet.
Thanks so much for telling me that. I haven't seen a one here near Ashtabula, Ohio. Last year Susie wrote down on the calendar when the first ones arrived here, and it was April 15th 2022.
