Hi Jan and welcome to BYC from Strasburg Ohio.....That's near the Dover, New New Phila, Bolivar area. I've also got bantam Cochins and I love them too. Soooo cute. I've also got bantam Polish which are darling too. Oh boy, you've got a tough decision with which brown egg layers to get.....So many pretty ones.....Meyer Hatchery in Polk Ohio is a nice place to get chicks from.....Buff Orps are beautiful, Barred Rocks are just classic......NHR, RIR....Oh heck! Get a variety! LOL

Hello fellow Ohioans! I'm in Dayton or more correctly, Riverside, Ohio. I'd been keeping my chickens under cover but recently recently found out that they are perfectly legal here. It will be interesting to see who else is close to me!

If you are looking for Buckeyes there is a guy outside of Dayton that sells them too. His website is BuckeyeChickens.com. I've talked to David and he has told me that he could sell me as many chicks as I needed. Hope this helps!
 
I am in southern Ohio near Huntington, WV and Ashland, Ky, and I have 2 extra buff brahma roosters who I will give separately or together to a good home. They are not aggressive and are in excellent health. They came from Meyer hatchery 10 months ago.
