Ohio National....Who's all going?

Quote:
The OHIO NATIONAL will have a table set-up along with the breed clubs for BYCers to meet at and sign in.
The guest book will ask for your forum name and real name. Additionally if you also list your cell phone number people can contact you in the show hall. The OHIO NATIONAL will also send you show information if you provide your e mail address.

We will also provide name tags. It is hoped that some of the BYC members will staff the table Saturday until 2PM or so. It would be nice if someone would arrange that- I won't have time.
This table should also be a good place for folks to arrange meeting.
I have requested the BYC banner to identify the table.

Looking forward to seeing everyone. It is going to be a great show!

Quick reply to the question about Modern Games.

There will be a lot of them at The OHIO NATIONAL. Many top breeders are entered.

You will find a good number of them available in Traders Row!

MGBs are probably the most pleasant disposition chickens there are. Not diffficult to raise and a pleasure to work with. They survive the cold well but do not start laying (usually) until they have some warmer temperatures and light stimulation.

We are going. I can't wait! I have a pair of butterscotch and snowy calls and a few extra Blue Butter males for sale. Also I have an Impeyan male this years hatch for sale. He is a nice bird, but had some problems with incubation and his toes are messed up. Oh and I almost forgot 2 ruddy shelduck hens.

It is a good idea. I heard there is going to be a BYC stand there, and I though, if we all stop by and get a name tag, and put our screen name "Chicmom" and then or real names, that would be good!

I'd love to meet some other members! How fun!

Hey, does anybody have any of those little Modern Games for sale? My husband just loves those. I wonder if they can handle Ohio weather........

I'm so excited and hope to meet alot of chicken friends there!

Sharon:)

We keep modern game bantams here in Iowa. They can take quite abit of cold, but we had a week long stretch with really cold wet air weather and took some special precautions. They really need to be draft free and have a place to roost where they aren't on bare wood (we wrapped their 2"x4" roost in an old wool sweater and they liked it). If I was going to keep them in an unheated coop, I would make a roosting box for them this year.

There will be quite a few MGB for sale at Ohio. See you there!

Thanks for the advice regarding the Modern Games....I bought two pair already--I'll be picking them up at the show!

Last year the fairgrounds charged $5 for for parking on Friday and another $5 on Saturday. We left for lunch and they charged us $5 again and I was not very happy with them. They never mentioned a $7 weekend pass so I guess people need to ask about it.

I thought parking was free for exhibitors?

Parking is NEVER free at the fairgrounds! The Ohio State Fair goat show is held 2 weeks before the fair even starts and we have to pay parking each time we come through the gate. Sometimes, if you're coming in for a meeting at the administration office (for example, to view the fairgrounds to possibly hold an event) or to set-up for an event, you can talk your way past the parking attendants but otherwise, you either need to pay the $5 every time you go through the gate OR buy an event pass. In the many events I've attended at the fairgrounds, the event parking pass has been more like 2-3 times the cost of daily parking ($10-$15) but if you intend on gong in/out more than a couple of times, it's well worth it. A quick trip through the McDonald's drive-through becomes a bit pricey if you add the $5 parking fee without the parking pass. Parking is handled by a third-party contractor and the people manning the booths don't aren't empowered to make decisions so arguing your point with them is of very little use.

Looking for a started pair of blue wheaton ameraucanas and a barnevelder roo or started pair, if anyone is selling any at this show please PM me to make arrangements. This is my first year and I'm not sure how this all works as far as the sale birds, I'm hoping the sale birds can stay til Sunday since I'm showing. I'm staying down there the whole weekend and the Garden Inn is not pet friendly...
