Ohio National...

I thoroughly enjoyed Ohio Nationals!! I met lots of nice people and was able to catch up with old friends. I just wish that I had had some extra Jersey giants for sale. LOL

Some of the best deals were in the parking lot this morning. I got a trio of Black Wyandots for nothing, The guy just didn't want to take them home and hoped I could give them a decent home, I hope my friend Lee will take them 2 pullets and cockerel. And I also got for FREE a Cuckoo/Barred Wyanndot cockerel. He too is gorgeous. And I have no need for him. Someone would certainly will like them. lololol

Next year we are going to be showing so we will be there all weekend. I hope by then we won't be looking to add anything to our flock. I hope we are looking to sale more high quality birds.

Congrats on all your wins Tyler!

Can I make a WANTED list for you for spring?
Let's see......Im going to need a chick from Grady's lines. Although Im hoping to get my own soon-- Going to have to make some more calls I guess!
I'll also take any bird as pretty as your blue mottled cochin. Did I tell you that I love her?
If you ever retire her, she can come live here as a yard ornament.
Thanks! Glad that you are totally addicted to the breed now too!

Oh.. and you wanted pics!
Here are a few, but of course....all serama.

It really was a very busy place all day, time flew and I didnt get many pictures, but here they are!

I have a few more, but have to do homework now... ugh.

Hey Jessi! I just noticed in your pictures that one of the cocks got a perfect score for his tail. I didn't see perfect scores for anything, but I guess I wasn't looking hard enough. Gotta admit, it does look pretty darn perfect! AAHHH! I need a list of 2010 show dates, because I want to go to them all!

We had an awesome trip to the Nationals. Didn't win anything big, but got the birds we need to get there next year.

The only BYCer we met was Turtleblossom--very nice to meet you!

Anyway, believe it or not but sellers row was way better this year than last year. Last year it was absolutely impossible, and kind of scary. We did our shopping on Friday. I spent 3 hours picking out a trio. The breeder was a saint, to put up with me. R.S. Keith brought some beautiful Dark Cornish, I love my new birds.

The only thing I didn't like was on the show side. There were junior bird cages on top of regular show birds, and ducks mixed in with the bantams--yuck?! It didn't effecct our birds but we were shaking our heads about that for awhile. The last thing was that they only judged one row of the Standard Cornish. They came back and rejudged, but I felt like my birds weren't appreciated at all. There's finally a nice class of Cornish and nobody cares enough to judge it. So that wasn't great.

Overall though we had a great time, and will be back again next year unless preparations for the Crossroads show interferes.

Taterschickens and I had a great trip up and back to the show. I did not take as many photos as I wanted to as I was so overwhelmed with all the busy activity there. talked to so many people. Met Shari from Harvest Breeze. She was showing Bantam Cochin and Silkies. They were beautiful. I met PipsnPeeps too. I may have met some of you and didn't know who you were.
I helped work at the Orpington Club table some of the time. I left early Sunday morning heading home. I thought I would post this photo of the Show.
