Hello I'm new here just got my first six chickens yesterday from a friend. My two sons and I are very excited about them my wife not so much but she will learn to love them. I talked her into getting pigs last fall and she fell for them so a few hens should be a cake walk ;)

You are certainly right, after pigs, chickens should be easy to love. Welcome to Backyard chickens. Hope you know that getting chickens is the gateway to guineas, quail, ducks, geese, swans.....need I go on?
 
Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I've never raised pigs so I can't compare the two from experience, but I would certainly think that chickens should be easier to raise. Welcome to BYC. Lots of helpful people here. Learning Center is a great place to start, but be careful you will start reading and find hours and hours have past. LOL
