Ya, I took a look at PC's BYC page. I now understand why "that was just just." So first my original pastoral image was shattered by the vision of a headless plucked chicken in a dress, to the something, um, more personal. I should stop talking now.
And THEN, I clicked on his "killing a silkie" video, thinking it would be a parody on their cuteness.... only find myself screaming, when I became apparent that it really was an instructional video on dinner101.
Go on, laugh at the noob, but I've never seen a chicken get offed, and I'm currently at the "I love my first two silkie chicks so much I could just squeeze them to death" stage. I haven't made the transition from "friends" to "meat" lol, and don't know if I will...
And thank-you very much.. now I won't get that song from "Hair" outa my head for several hours....
So Purple Chicken guy.. WHAT is that amazing looking black n white speckled creasted rooster in that one pic?
But anyway, back to topic.. there is something perfect and peaceful about sitting with the chickens in the afternoon, and it's one of the finer things in life. Dorks? Yeah. Happy? Yeah.
Glad you enjoyed my page. You are at a disadvantage being new here.
People need to ease into me or can be permanently damaged.
That white roo is a Spitzhauben hatched from eggs a BYC member
sent me. He was a cool chicken.
Chickens are multipurpose to me. Some are friends and would NEVER
be offed. Others are meat.
For me, when I go sit in my barn and let the chickens run around me
I get a feeling of serenity that's hard to describe. Several of my birds
will hop up on me and hang out. I have fallen asleep more than once
out there.
The chickens will nap too.
