Yeah I like butchering too, except for plucking. Skinned birds suck though, so I do what I must... lol
The most important thing in butchering in my opinion is MAKE SURE THE BIRD IS FULLY FEATHERED before you butcher it. Pinfeathers are a special kind of hell...
I also think starving your birds for 24 hours prior to butchering has merit too. Anything to reduce the poopy mess is a good thing. lol
I see you breed zebra finches too. lol I ended up becoming a finch "breeder" by accident a few years ago too! I thought they NEEDED a nest. Turns out it just makes them want to lay eggs and hatch out chicks as fast as they can!
One neat thing about disassembling your chickens is it will give you a better understanding of your finches too, since they are virtually identical anatomically to a chicken.
