Pea comb gene is very closely linked to the blue eggshell gene. Whatever alleles of these genes a bird has on one chromosome are nearly always inherited together (they could come from either chromosome, but both USUALLY come from the SAME one. In a very small percentage of tme, there is crossover, and one of the genes in inherited from one chromosome and the other from the other chromosome.

I understand what you are saying but there a lot of Pea Comb Breed that don't nor will they lay Blue Eggs.
Examples would be;
Buckeye,
Cornish "Indian Game",
Asil
Shamo,
Brahma,
American Gamefowl

Now on the other hand the Cream Legbar is a Single comb breed and lays a Blue egg.
I'v been playing with a production blue egg laying hybrid (my breeding) that has a single and I am to the point that every hen hatched is a blue egg layer.

These were the 'maybe ameraucana's' that were sold as EE's and all the blue's were boys right(a black and white were pullets?)? I do think the girls will lay blue/green eggs. They might not, but I think they will.. Lets just say if they were mine I would expect green.

Likely to lay green eggs.

I think your boy might be an EE crossed with something else, though. He really doesn't look like an EE to me at all.

the roo may have some ee in him but hes not a pure ee(although ee's are americana's(sp) that dont meet the sop...yes i have looked it up and even was on the breed club site and thats what they said an ee was)

I do understand, and agree with all this. Started to use an example of crossing to a brahma, and decided it was getting too confusing. Since the birds were identified as EEs, that is why I would expect that pea combed birds would lay a blue shelled egg. If an unidentified mutt, I would not make that assertion.

I also know what the breed club say's a EE is but hatchery and backyard EE's are a whole another ball of wax.
90% of the EE's that are out there can and will have about anything crossed into them.

Chris
