Rosey my Buff Orpington has been sitting on a empty nest for at least 30 days maybe 32 days. My hubby wont let me get a baby chick or a fertile egg so what can i do. She doesnt even get off the nest. i take her off several times a day. What do I need to do to get her passed this?

I am in the same. Boat again lol. What I do is block them from the nest box, and every day dip tem in nice cool water. At night I put them in a cage . They come out of it pretty fast then. I'm kicking them from the nest boxes today, tonight the cage, tomorrow the dips start.

why do you dip them in cool water?

Some folks think cooling the bird down will break the broody cycle.

When she is on the nest she will get off and eat/drink so if you choose to leave her there you do not need to attend to her.

Buff Oprs are broody. If you really want to break her remove her completely from the nest and put her in a cage w/ food and water. The cage should not have any nesting material and ideally would be elevated to allow air flow under the bottom. Keep her in there a few days (24/7, don't put her back in the nest!) and see if she breaks.

Good luck!!
