i dont want to take it out of the frame b/c i would have to cut thru the back so i'll just tell you what it says.

on the left it says "_larkson 1890" (i'm guessing there is a C behind the frame ..)

in the middle lower it says "armstrong & co. lith"

and on the right it says "copyright 1891 by JF Inc."

I would guess it's a lithograph, "armstrong & co. lith" . It's hard to tell for sure without seeing it in person.

Lithographs were common at the time, Currier and Ives being the most famous company. They would take their prints out on carts and sell them to the general public. Lithographs allowed people with more limited means to be able to have art in their homes, a major luxury prior to their availability.

Some lithographs are worth more than others, it really depends. They vary widely.

I thought lithograph when I read it too. You should take it too an appraiser since it has the original back and a legible signature and date!
