Ok to kill Bald Eagles

Ya, whatever.

Unfortunately I have been made well aware of your predilcition to denegrate many races and people, and now you have a chance to show how you feel about Indians because they sought a legal permit to kill two eagles for a very legitimate and religious purpose. Your suggestion is, as usual, suitable for the David Duke show but you should know that for most of their needs regarding protected birds the Indians do go to a repository where the remains and the feathers of the dead birds are kept for just such a purpose. For this particular religious purpose the requirement calls for fresh feathers from the whole bird. The Indians feel that most of the Christian ways and beliefs are ridiculous but it would be extremely rare for any indian of any tribe to be so bigoted as to attempt to prevent them from practicing their religion. I would be ashamed to make some of the statements that I have read here.

Naturally, this is always your answer when I post contrary evidence.

That would clearly violate the rights of other human beings, and is not an acceptable comparison.

I used to work with eagles at an aviary. The site you linked....leaves a lot to be desired in the facts department.
...Can't....hold head up.
While birds such as anhingas and geese may lose flight during molts, raptors tend to have symetrical and patchy molts to retain blanaced flight. This is true of eagles.

Not that I believe for a second that you actually meant it to be a 'solution' to the feather harvesting (Feathers kept from molted birds already go to places such as tribes and museums. Falconers may also use them: http://apps.leg.wa.gov/wac/default.aspx?cite=232-30-570 ), but rather a link for some other tangent.

Chicken Leg...you are a nice boy so I am only going to invoke your signature "When ignorance is denied stupidty is accepted." What I would like you to do first is read the book "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee." If when you are finished you are not rending your clothes and pulling your hair out for the injustices that were done by WE to the Indians, then you have no soul. Second, you need to read just a little bit of our American history to realize that it was WE who owned slaves. Keep in mind that I say WE because it was us, our forefathers, our relatives, Americans, that chased and slaughtered the Indian and owned black slaves for many years. And for that WE are guilty. Try to remember always that there are three types of guilt. The first is actual guilt and that is for the ones who actually were there and did the bad deeds. That is not me and you. Second there is knowing guilt and that is for the ones who did not actually do it, but knew it, stood by and did nothing. That is not me and you either. But then there is metaphysical guilt and that is for the ones who came afer, the direct descendants, the countymen who came after and it is for them to always remember the terrible wrongs that were committed and to be forever wary and on our guard to never let any little thing creep into our lives that would give pardon of any sort to those wrongs. That one is me and you; that is the WE.

Lasty, bald eagles ARE NOT endangered and although it is wrong to kill them as a general rule, I think if you invoke your signature line, you will understand why, this time, it is OK. I would give you one last tidbit. In Alaska alone over 100,000 bald eagles were killed in our name by fisherman who felt the eagle was a threat to their fishing rights.

Remember: When Ignorance is denied, stupidity is accepted.

IF the ones who had nothing to do with it always act as if they are guilty then no one will be able to grow up and move on.

Resurrecting past traditions has to have a stopping point. Tossing virgins into volcanoes would be argued as traditional and under the same premise we would be suspending a law to allow a cultural practice which would seem on the exterior to violate equal access under the law. Indians were famous for raiding nearby villages for women how would that go over today? maybe nullify kidnapping get a permit and let them have at it? These things always have the potential to setting precedents.

I really think the reason the government has allowed this is as in the past some battles are not worth fighting. Whatever happen to the Indians national sovereignty? do they really need permission? especially on reservation land.

I am beginning to think this is all to prove a point at the expense of what 2 eagles a year?

Again....know your facts not just flippin out wanna be thoughts and myths. Molting season? Really? hahahahaha Think about that a few moments and I am sure it will come to you. Then again maybe not. It is not just the feathers that would be used, unlike most white people, we tend to use every part possible of an animal. Secondly, do you really want to get into a history lesson you will surely fail? Well so be it...

Virgin tossing was NOT an American Indian tradition, rite or ceremony....get in the right hemisphere. You watch too many lame documentaries and read fiction. Indians WERE NOT famous for raiding nearby villages and stealing women, instances of that were done as retribution against enemy tribes so get your facts straight. I bet you think Dances with Wolves was a true story too huh? You probably feel some sadness for General Custer too huh? Good grief you are really digging a deep hole for your IQ score.

You think the Government allowed it on a whim do you....the lawsuit took three flippin years of fighting to get that permit you uninformed individual. The government fought pretty hard for it not to be worth it. For someone who seems to have all the answers you overlook the FACT that the eagles will not be taken on Reservation ground the permit is to be able to take them OFF reservation ground which would be off sovereign land. Good grief get your facts straightbecause you are making yourself look ridiculous.

PAST traditions? They are in the past only in your mind and a MINORITY of very young, white man influenced native youth. The majority of natives do not feel the way you do. Our traditions are still very vibrant and rich thank you very much. Too bad our LAWS are not extended beyond the borders of our Reservations because I think you would find them interesting albeit not pleasurable. Justice is swift, non-questionable and non-frivolous.

Are you so obtuse that you cannot figure out when someone is either ignoring you or does not want to engage in a pointless tangent with you who acts as if you are personally effected by what happened many years ago?

Not "whatever." You actually said that Indians were known for raiding villages for the woman. For you also.."When ignorange is accepted, stupidity is denied." Your assignment is to also read "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee"

Because you have NO FACTS you are spouting crap like you did a mad Google Search for something to say so you sound informed yet you are so clearly uninformed it is laughable.
