Yikes! I'm glad you got out! I guess that's a new suggestion for the coop building section. Make at least one window in the coop large enough to climb through!

Hi! I'm glad that a good ending. I had a latch on a coop 'person door' that would flip shut and lock me in on occasion 'for a while'. Not a problem, the chicken door is 2'x2' and easy to climb through.
Then one morning, I was in there to candle a bunch of eggs under hens and had latched the chicken door from the outside AND latched the window covers (to make it nice and dark for candling). The latch flipped and I was stuck --- wait til Hubby comes home or break something to get out. I decided to kick out the chicken door and climb out (it was the easiest thing to replace).
