Okay, few more questions....

I did the float test... 2 were wiggling and jiggling.... Yeah.. and boo at the same time because now I don't know what to do!

I did the eggtopsy on the rest of them...

2 of them were stinkers- literally. Yellow/brown liquid inside and smelled funny.
The other Eggs were I believed *shrinkwrapped* - When I took a small piece of shell off the top of the egg- where the air cell was the membrane- was white and I couldn't see the chick. Is that normal or should it be translucent? All chicks were fully formed and feathered.

2 out of the 5 were alive and did a couple breaths once I removed the tough white covering... I felt terrible!! I actually put one of the eggs in a small dish back in the bator because he was moving and I could not bear to put him in a zip lock baggie... I thought that Maybe he could make it???

Now What???? I have 2 eggs in the incubator that were moving all around in the water and I KNOW that they too are shrink wrapped... I added more water to the bator.. so much that it started leaking out of the bottom!! Should I try to remove some of the shell on top?? Is there any other way to help them out of the shell?

Remind me again what day you are on? I'm too lazy to go back...lol

I set them on the 6th... so 23rd day..

After reading a post about drowning... I am really confused...

Drowning: the whitish outer membrane is dry while the clearish inner membrane is wet, binding the chick; also caused by too high humidity thoughout incubation

The outer membrane was white and dry... but once I opened it up .. the chick was wet.... It this drowning.. or

Shrink wrapped: before pipping, both inner and out membranes dry tight around the chick; caused by too little humidity throughout incubation

There was NO pipping... the chick had it's head by the wing in each case....

Did they drown and my humidity was too high.. or did I shrink wrap them... EEEK!! I'm so confucious!

It sounds more like drowning than shrinkwrapping. Did you monitor your air cells? And what was your average humidity?

Well, we've been testing the 2nd incubator hubby made..checking to see if it keeps temp and humidity right. Will let y'all know if we can try again.

Okay folks (AmyLynn2374)---the new incubator hubby made is I guess a forced air--it has a fan inside. Should the air temp still be 101-102 degrees? Please respond asap. Thanks
