Okay, Rebels, we Yankees need you now.

No, I just knock them apart, pull all the nails and staples then hit them with a pressure washer. Any boards with paint or stain had it on them when I found them. I sorta like the natural look. The light colored "trim" around the windows was new lumber though, I cheated on them.

Yeah not just cold, arctic wind!
I put up a windbreak for my chooks coz the real coop is in-progress. It is *really* redneck-y made of random junk and nothing is nailed down coz it is kinda temporary, but I didn't take any pictures of it

but I might if you ask pretty please

Right at the moment it's ten in the morning in my part of Florida where it's 39 degrees and blowing twenty mph steady and gusts to 28. The only thing I'm building is a FIRE.

I'll use pallets in it if you'd like.

2X It's 10 here and -10 or lower with the wind chill. I am dreaming about what to build as my DH has told me he will build another coop - my Christmas gift.

Here in KY it is 16 deg. and the snow is blowing sideways. But we had a short warm (mid 40's) spell Sat. and I used it to add rafters and purlins to my run roof. Wasn't pallets, but I reused 2x stock left from concrete forms. I had another hour of daylight but it started raining before I could get the metal on. Another winter under a tarp...
