lol maybe when I go out to water tomorrow morning. Supposed to be in the teens tonight and it sure as heck feels like it already is!!!!! The dog's water froze over between when I let them out and when I let them back inside!

Hi Joe. I don't live in the South, and it's not done, but it IS made of pallets This is the biggest thing I've ever built, and it will be interesting to see how it turns out. I do have my dad for construction consultations, but 99% of this project is being built by me. Sorry if you've already seen these photos

Hopefully I'll be able to "pretty it up" once it's done

The temporary wind block (as seen from the inside, nighttime) you'd have to see the outside to really appreciate the redneck-ness of it. It's held up by old tires and such

maybe another day, it's dark right now

I love how they all try to get as close to that one piece of tin as possible. Looks like one girl might end up in the floor if she's not really good at defending her roosting position!!

We finally made it out of the teens, but there's freezing rain falling right now, on top of a dusting of snow. Too bad because I really need to finish my silkie chicken tractor:

And I need to build 2 more just like it by Spring, cause the silkie chicks ain't getting any younger!

Pretty soon the house is going to be full to the brim with silkies.
