***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Was at the Shawnee Atwoods this evening. They have baby chicks in.. looked like maybe a 100 count mix...no breed labels out.
Some standards and bantams in the straight run pen.
There are some keets too. Someone reserved 10 to pick up this evening and there were about 10 left...white and white with tan....
The pullet pen had a lot of black with yellow markings and a few dark chocolate babies. There was one tan chipmunk and one dun colored chipmunk.
There were only 5 ducks...they were yellow underneath a dark fuzz.

Loving these cooler days with prospects of rain.

It has been a while since I have been on but Carl has made sure to keep my post count rising...lol. Thought I would post a pic of our newest family member, our niece. 8 weeks premature weighing 3lbs 6 1/2 oz and 16 1/2 inches long.

I'm getting anxious about the Green Country Swap. I have all the raffle ticket containers finished, and the raffle items as well. Now I just need to decide which chickens and ducks to take.

Here are the last of the two-liter bottle containers. I think the roosters are wondering, “Who invited the bunnies?”

To make sure we have enough raffle ticket containers, I picked up some clear plastic bags, glued cardboard in the bottom to make them stand, and used acrylic paints to decorate them. I know goats and cows aren’t included in the swap, but they are farm animals, and I was running out of ideas for painting chickens.

We're alright... lost the last of my chickens back in February's cold snap. Between school, being sick, my kid, his kid, and us spinning up for J's deployment early next year, it's been hectic. I'm still enrolled full time in college, and I'm passing, so there's that.

However, I'm darned sick of storebought eggs. LOL
