***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Morning Okies. Day 2 of our audit, no matter what they find the exit interview is at 1:30 and my boss already promised me an early out (I'll leave after they leave

) and I'm gonna spend some time working on the coop and kennel. I really need to figure out how to roof that thing. No matter how I go about it, I've got birds to pick up soon.

I rather like the fog

Reminds me of a documentary I watched on redwoods, turns out they get over 70% of their water from the fog that rolls in off the coast.

Robin, I have to agree with Betsy. Slate are not suppose to have any stripes. It does look like it has some rusty color like slate keets do from that pic. want to take some more pics & we can all play the guessing game with you.

Raven if you hatch some porcelain in the future I might be interested. That is a color I don't yet have. So glad you were able to adopt a good working dog. Ones that chase birds break my heart!!!

Sshavney you need to keep that roo in case something happens to yours--- it is an important part of chicken math. Stories guide even says keep a back up roo. Think that might have been written before the law of chicken math.

Robin, I think he could be a pearl. The pics make him look rusty colored so that stumped me.

That looks similar to your keet. And it is a pearl, more the teddybear markings than the type of pearl keet everyone is used to. I have several slates in hopes of slate keets for next year. I know you were wanting one of the same blood line, but if you do deciede you would like another slate let me know in the spring. Think Betsy should hatch slate in the spring too, if she is closer to you.

I guess that's what my pen full of male Silkies will be called. Backup Roos. Has a nice ring to it. Rather it would IF I were breeding chickens

Which I'm not.
I guess I'll have to call it "The Roos I Don't Have The Heart To Get Rid Of After Raising Them From 2 Day Old Chicks." Doesn't have as nice of a ring to it but oh well.

Morning all! I am sitting in line for the homecoming parade! I am pulling the fresh mans float. and of course it's doing a heavy drizzle! I don't think the kids will mind, they are all hyped up at the pep rally right now!

Got my old pigeon loft torn down and cleaned up yesterday. Glad to get that done. Now I can start on some more pens.

Well gotta go drive,back later.

I would really like to keep him! I already have a Blue Orpington Roo that I am not willing to part with, so that means 3 roos to 12 girls. I'm working on getting more seperate housing for them, but can't get the help at home with hunting season here...lol. I'm sure I'll get it figured out. I have 24 BCM eggs in the incubator now! Hopefully I will have a few girls.

Well thankfully space and neighbors isn't a problem here. They'll be right next to the turkey's pen so that ought to be pretty noisy and entertaining this fall
