Hi Flea! Glad to see you made it to the forum finally:) I have learned plenty from here, and I got all my lovely chickens from fellow BYCers:)

Already an enabler...got your friend to join this community of poultry people! Great job! I learn something new each day in reading posts, great group of folks!

Welcome to you both!

No, I don't know the address, they're on Facebook though.
I forgot to tell you all what the teeny tiny Red Cochin I got from Firefly ate......a MOUSE!! The Marans played keepaway with it for 5 minutes and tiny little Reba snatched it and *swallowed it! It was a baby mouse but still a cropful for her. So gross watching the tail disappear down her beak

Good evening Everybody!

First off thanks for all the thoughts and prayers for my DD. They mean more then you can know to us. It is all I can do to not just drive down there and bring her home.

I talked to the base Chaplin today. Learned along time ago that if you need something done or information from the military call a Chaplin. Fortunately the guy I spoke with was chatty and seems to be willing to help my DD work on getting convalescence leave, especially after telling him I would come get her and bring her home to get healed up so she could finish up her training. Which he thought was really extraordinary considering I was not thrilled about her enlisting in the first place. Hopefully I will hear from my DD in a few days and know more about what is going to happen. From what my daughter has said and the Chaplin, she could be there months, getting healed up. Trying to stay positive.

Like a good mom I sent another care package with books, puzzle books, drawing supplies, cards, etc. so she has something to do to take her mind off being hurt. The ladies at the post office are getting to know me pretty well.

As for the chickens everyone is doing great. Right now I am looking for a couple of giant cochin hens or pullets for Gregory. White, black, splash or blue would be preferable. Gregory is a really big roo and needs some BBH (big beautiful hens). hehehe!

Harley my dog is still in rehab for chicken munching but will be let out under close supervision this weekend. He is actually doing really good. A young chick crawled between his kennel and the grow-out pen, twice and he did not touch it. Depending on how things go with the DD, Mr. Harley maybe going in to get his bits removed. That is of course after I show him the nasty chicken he killed a couple of weeks ago. Yes, this is gross but it is all for his own good, and the chickens good, as well.

If I am not making a trip to San Antonio this Saturday I will be at the auction this weekend. Blanchard right???
Hey when it the show in Shawnee? Is that this weekend or next? Sure do not want to miss that. Been every year for the last 3 years and do not want to miss it this year. Love looking at all the birds.

Well heading to bed. Tomorrow is Tuesday which is better then Monday. Hope everyone has a Terrific Tuesday and a wonderful rest of the week!

Ksane, I can't WAIT to watch one of my girls catch and eat a mouse! Provided the cat doesn't continue to keep them away.

rebecca,
if you are interested I have a trio of LF Cochin left one Black Hen, one Blue Hen and teh Blue roo. the roo must go too but I am sure some one would take him I think mike may know someone looking for a blue roo. If you are interested give me a call, I am getting rid of all the LF I have and will focus on nothing but bantams from this point forward with 1 likely exception but they will have a great deal more space.
The Newcastle show is this month the 15th. Shawnee is in december 10th..
