***OKIES in the BYC III ***

By light of day, looks like we will have issues with both chimneys on the hose from last night's 4.7 earthquake. The chimney for the living room fireplace has cracked and has loose brick about a foot and a half above the roofline. That explains the cracks in the ceiling and walls in the livingroom. The second chimney for the den has separated the length of the chimney from the house on both sides. That explains the loss of cornice trim in there. Another big quake could take them both down. With all the rain, we have no leaks in the ceiling yet.

We got 1.5 inches in the guage and there are huge puddles in both chicken runs. The big girls are safe inside, but the teen pen has three running around out side of their coop....go figure. The Blrw are safe and dry inside their coop. It is still rainging and we can see water levels on two ponds are up a little.

for a while.

Morning everyone how is everyone enjoying the rain we're getting. Being in the construction buis it kinda but a stop to any work i can do which means Ive had the past couple days off. Its good for the body but kinda hurts come pay day. O well we need the rain so im not complaning. Hope everyone has a good day and is able to stay dry.

I decided to see if I could sell the paints I just bought. I am feeling overwhelmed recently. If I don't sell them for what I paid, then so be it... however if I do, then no skin off my nose.

My office is cold today and I didn't bring a sweater.

Hello, Well my on again off again computer is working today so I thought I would jump on and say hi.
I hope all is well. Felt the shaking but no damage here. Nana, will be praying you got all of your repairs done quickly and safely. I have a friend that lives NW of Prague and they have been hit pretty hard all three times.
Parts of the OKC metro got almost 6 inches of rain. In my neck of the woods it was just over an inch. Ponds still need a lot of help.
Hopefully my PC will let me return later.
Great day to all of you guys.

glad your computer let you come and play for a bit.

The rain gauge this morning was 4 8/10 inches (only goes to 5) so I emptied it and it's still raining, so we'll see what we end up w/ later. I live on top of a hill and have standing water everywhere.

Well it looks like I'll have to pick all my green tomatoes tomorrow. The overnight low for Wed night / Thur morning has been falling all week, their latest forcast is 29, that may end all except the cold hardiest things in the garden.

Pretty great that you have been able to harvest up to this point! Love seeing your pic's on here & FB!

Good to see ya Monty!

Nana, Sure hope it is a easy & quick fix for you guys! Hope there are no leaks to cause further trouble.

I've tended half the chicken pens, and the goats, so I'm in for a dry coat and a cup of tea before checking on the rest.

I'd planned to fire ceramics today, but with the thunderstorms so active I think I'll wait. I don't want to start a cycle and have the power go out.

Kass - Are your tomato plants far apart? Could you turn a bucket or trash can over the top of the plants that still have green fruit to protect them from the frost? I wish I could find the photos (or even the website) I saw last year of a before and after late tomato harvest. A gardner put trashcans over tomato plants with green fruit before a winter storm. I don't know how long the storm lasted, but when the trash cans were removed and the plants exposed, the tomatoes had begun to turn pink. The before picture had green tomatoes and brown grass. The after picture had pink tomatoes and snow.

Happy goodmorning folks.......already had a morning nap
