***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I love the pictures! Joe, it always amazes me how perfect your birds feathers are.
And Nana, I'd love to have so many different kinds of roosters. I can't bear to give up the goofy Silkie boys & 3 Cochin boys I raised so that means I don't get any more boys. And there's so many pretty kinds. Do you have a problem with the boys over-breeding the girls? I've got 2 huge Cuckoo Marans boys out in the layers yard but they're only 5 months old and haven't even mastered crowing right yet.

Now that I've combined the two flocks for the winter, I run Sampson and Beau with 38 hens. Whether they are in the henhouse or outside, Beau's girls stay close to him. Sampson commands the rest of the hens. The SLW are together for an AI program. Popeye is not breeding age yet. There are enough hens to go around.

they look good if you breed the split roo to the pure coronation you will hatch about 50% pure coronation and 50% split and out of the split roo to the split hen you will get 50% split and 25% pure coronation and 25% lite thise is where it gets triky because it is almost inposable to tell the splits from the lites unless you know or you breed them and see what hatches i love the color of both the coronation and the lite/splits so i use a pure coronation roo over split and coronation hens that way i know everthing is coronation or split ( no lites)

i do have a lot of GREAT looking pure coronation cockerls if you deside you need one

Beautiful birds.
So the breeding works like the Andalusian in Black/Blue/Splash?

Good looking birds Joe and NaNa!
Okracefan if you have any I would sure love to see some pics of your cabin. WE are kicking that ideal around for our new place.

Joe the big coro roo is always so impressive! What variety is the OE hen in the second pic of the OEs? She is beautiful but I don't recognize the color.
