It's just there Guy, or at least not here. Spring has hit.. It's 70 degrees, partially cloudy, light wind a high for today and everyday of 78.

Working on it, I reset Steph's password for her too but figured I would not keep everyone guessing as to who it was.

I will work on that, and see if I can get my Educator award again too. Who Knows still don't know who nominated me in the first place. But will keep doing what I do anyway.

Is Lil-Sooner going to have room for 3 trios by late summer? I would liek to set her up with a Trio of Opal OE, Trio of Columbian OE, and a Trio of Black Rosecomb. As well as anything else I have she may be inetrested in.

Morning all. Still calling for snow this afternoon. Its still warm outside so I don't know. But I got a Murray McMurray catalog nd a burgess seed catalog yesterday so I'm ready to stay in wish!lol I know a lot of people frown on hatchery birds but they were the first fancy poultry I ever had so I am still fond of ordering chicks in the mail. Hope all the postal problems doesn't elimate that enjoyable side of poultry raising. And everyone needs a Murray catalog just so you can see what grown birds and babys of the same breeds look like.

I love my hatchery Silkies! I know what you mean though-the breeds thread here on BYC can be mighty stuck-up if someone's birds didn't come from such-and-such's lines and win oh-so-many shows. It really turned me OFF big time from even wanting to breed or show anything. It's just like dog and horse breeding, you know the same high and mighty attitude exists in the FISH world?? lol! You're nobody unless your Texas Cichlid fish comes from some so-and-so's lines

My first post since the format changed. Posts take longer to load on my phone, and there seems to be some compatibility issues with the rich text editor and my browser software (safari).
HavinFun - love those barred rocks! Nice PI drop pens too. Been thinking of getting some (drop pens). Where'd your barred rock stock come from? I had some once, til the coyotes got them. May acquire more in the future. I want some that were selected for production first & feather second.

Yea, it kinda sucks on my iPad, I finally gave up last night. But on my laptop and desktop it works great. I love being able to click on "MultiQuote" for each post I want to answer and then when you're ready to answer you just click on "Reply" and it quotes *all of the ones you'd selected. That's so handy!

That should be interesting reading. I'm a member of their silly club, kinda got pushed into it when I was supposed to get the birds from a breeder at the Shawnee show. Her birds got sick and the pullet died so I didn't get the birds but I'm still a member since I'd already paid the dues. I don't post on their thread because honestly-they care far too much about things that I couldn't care less about and they can kind of be stuck up. I like good quality animals but not for the same reasons they do. It's temperament I'm interested in and the nicer quality animals seem to have the best temperament and act consistently like they're "supposed" to.

Our little Carl is growing up! It won't be long until he starts crowing lol!

And my griping about "show lines" is NOT directed at our very own Carl, by the way. He's not one of the stuck up ones who shuns lesser quality birds lol Carl, I'm sure you've run into the attitude I'm talking about in the show world.

Far too often, thats why it's so much fun to compete against those guys and beat them on occasion... In some varieties more than on occasion. I have refused to join one breed club and only show just to take away the points from teh "big boys". It is funny to read thier "Show Reports" and what they fail to disclose is they had best of variety when they were the only one showing, or best of breed with only 3 birds in teh breed present, it's stuff like that they don't like to have told. It's easy to win if you are the only one, but does not give you bragging rights.
