They're beautiful, you possess a mindset that I lack in being able to keep the end result in mind when you attempt a new color. I get muddled up and attached to an individual animal and end up caring more about the individual than the big picture. I accepted my limitations long ago

. The world needs us both though.

I find that is the only way to get where I want to be. I apply that to everything I do. driving, building, business, shopping. I am very goal oriented and it scares steph and others sometimes. Our youngest son is teh same way but maybe stronger willed.

I need a Rhode Island Red Rooster and Standard Cochin.

I am having a heck of a time finding one. Right now I have a lavander Orpington rooster and RiR, NH, and Cochin hens. My daughter wants to show the RiR roo. So can anyone help me out with a breeder or perahps an extra top quality roo you have.

I don't like the autions. I lost my whole flock from a sick aution bird I got there so not really my prefered option.

I need him soon to since after the 30 day quarintine and adjustment period it will be March --- Hatching season, HURRAH!!!

Contact Michael daughtery, he wil have some I'm sure. he is a great resource we all lean on when we want or need things. I can PM you his number if needed.

I posted this once and it didnt come up. So here goes again. Do any of you use Red Cell on your feed for your birds. I have used it for years in the winter. Seems to help boost egg production and increase the fertility some.

Just stopped by to say "Howdy".
Grace and I are working in the same building so it is kind of neat to see her every once in a while. We usually start early and then after work just eat and sleep.
We don't have internet or phone at home (just cell phones) so it is pretty quiet. We enjoy it a lot.
We are "city folks" for the time being. This is our home in Duncan for now but we are still looking for a place out of town so we can get back into chickens.

I have Brooders, and can get them to an age where you can pick through them... I know you will have a local market for teh extras.... Did that help solve the problem?
I'm not sure how I'd feel about the ones I was leaving behind though, such an emotional risk to take lol! Maybe I wouldn't get so attached if they all looked the same..... All my chickens now look different, maybe if I couldn't tell them apart it would be a lot easier to part with the extras?

I use it for older birds and less productive birds, it does help improve production, fertility, and hatchability. However I also add 1oz of wheat Germ oil to a 3lb coffee can of feed for hatchability and the extra soluable fat content.

Split teh cost of the eggs, and make arrangements to split the chicks... then only half are yours anyway, so your not leaving them behind they are just going to a friend.. Is this helping?
I'm going to win eventually,
