***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Those bugs look actually a little pretty... for a bug.

My hubby was walking by the computer when I scrolled onto this message, and he asked what that was. I explained what they were and what they were for and he just shook his head and walked on. He hasn't caught the chicken fever yet, and I don't know if he ever will. He said we have enough bugs in Oklahoma, so I can't even think about growing any more.

Your dad?? lol!! He looks like a really fun person though haha!
I finally got my bugs! They're awesome. I bought 20 for $19 and he sent me **70** of them, can you believe it?? He knew how excited I was about starting a colony but I never expected he'd send that many! And ALL but 15 or 20 are over 2" and breeding size! Other places want $10 per breeding pair and this guy just sent me all these-wow. I was concerned about their shells being too hard for the chickens but they're not even as hard as june bug shells and we know how chickens slurp those down. I'm way excited.
Oh, and yes-their names are all Daryl so I don't get attached!

Carl,
My incubators are not up and running so the Dept of Ag didn't check anything to give me a hatchery certificate. I told the tester that I will likely have you hatch my more "valuable" eggs this year - the peacocks, pheasants, madagascar games and genetically engineered chicken eggs, since you have a hatchery certificate. If I do that, you will likely see me about every week this Spring.

I have all kinds of Inc. space.. After getting out of Big birds all together and 2 Inc. that hold 1800 each My bantams will not fill them. We live fairly close just let me know.. I prefer to set eggs on tuesdays as that seems to be a good schedule for me. I can hatch more than you can provide..

We know very little of my father's side family hx. No clue about his biological father, except that he did in his mid 40's from a jacked up car falling on him and crushing him. His mother, my Gma who raised me has/d at least 10 sibling/half siblings that she knew about, but only briefly met two or maybe three when they were children. My father traveled the whole of the U.S. for most of his life ............ and what's the PC family friendly way to put this "tom catted" his way all over the U.S. So yes anything is possible.

My Paternal grandfather was 1 of 16, left for California at 14 after several incidents involving teh law and a public official hanging from a second story window by his feet.. I know only 1 of his brothers and would not want to cross his path a second time. They are an intersting bunch to say teh least.

Hello everyone! I hope you had a good day. It looks like Sooner behaved... :)

My day was very unproductive. The past 3 days we have been working on breaking ground for new garden beds, and last night we moved a lot of brick. So I was too sore to do much today. :)

I got the entry form for the NE Oklahoma Poultry show. I didn't realized it would be for Bantams only, and my daughter's chickens are all standards. So I guess for my daughter to get to show for 4H projects I have to get some Bantams. And since I am limited to 6 hens here, I can't get what I want. I was so set on getting some more Buff Os.

So.... Cjarvis and other Bantam breeders.... do you have any to sell at the moment? I'm willing to drive a bit from Tulsa to look and buy. And i would rather buy from some one on here than a stranger add on CL or at the flea market.

I am excited to see plans for POOPs are being set in place. I will try to make it, as long as my husband's work schedule does not interfere. And I plan on being at the meet up in Muskogee, but only as an observer and to meet some fellow chicken lovers.

Well... it is almost my 10 bedtime, and I still have to clean the kitchen.

Have a blessed night y'all!

Angela

Bedtime for me too, I'm beat,

Ksane where did you get your Hissers from? I had them for a long time but they all kinda got ill and died over a short period after I got married, I think she didn't much like them :-( I think now that I live alone again I might get some more LOL
At www.reptilestation.com there's a guy that sells them, screen name is Zaggy-something. I've got his email address if you want it. It was $9 for 20 of them plus $9 shipping, course he sent me *70* though! I like these guys, they move slow and are FAT! I can't wait to get my Dubia, too.
