Not Volunteering?? LOL

They need to add and "add" function to the spell checker so it can stop telling me everyone's names are spelled wrong,

This was on a bumper stickers I saw once,
"Bad Spellers Of The World! UNTIE!!!"

Well off to be poked and prodded some more see y'all later

Come in to take a break and rest a bit. Looked at my blog and thought wow has been forever since I posted on it, so sorta did a quicky catch up. Maybe this evening will do more. How many on here blog. I find it fun and can keep track of things like a journal for me.
I have been out cleaning my soon to be brooder house. My gosh it is full of trash and junk. As my dad got older, things seemed to go down pretty bad around here. It is a mess, but will be good when I get it cleaned out. On a funny note. I found an old cotton sack. Some few of you on here may know about these, but many do not. It is white canvas. This one was one of us kids as it was only about 10 foot long. Dad and Grandads were much longer. I am one of the few 52 year old men in this part of the state and probable lots of others that got to experience picking cotton. Did this for about 4 years in my early youth, and can remember hoeing cotton one season. Any way this was a factory sack. Most we had were home made. All we had were either made from canvas or burlap. This was made out of a white light canvas. Had red cotton bowl logo and some writing about the gin where is was sold. It was wadded up and when I unwadded it It was very dirty, some mold, and some dry rot. Well like I said yesterday, The Wife aint here. So I thought I would wash it in the wash machine and if it looked good, try to figure some way to display my new found piece of my history. Lot of you ladies may already know this and probable some of you men. I know it now. A wash machine will destroy your past in just one cycle. I opened the lid and it looked like I had filled the tube with cotton. My bag had disintegrated to the point it was just small pieces.

Oh well I hated picking cotton so I guess this is for the best.

Morning all,
Okieridge roosters get easier find real soon, but check with micheal daughtery he will likely have one or know where one is for you. he is great resource for many of us, and will surprise you with what he has at times. I will also say he does take real good care of the birds while he has them, will be very open and honest with everyone he deals with.

Thanks, how do I reach him. I would like to find a few quality birds. They don't have to be show birds but I do want to breed some for selling and raising some for our own use. But I do want healthy birds they are all our pets. I am finding "chicken farming" as hubby puts it, very relaxing.

Michael's Number is 405-933-0518, the best poultry resource in the state (in my opinion) he buys and sells alot and knows just about everyone and what they have.
I agree on the relaxing bit, I firmly believe that doctors shoudl write presciptions for poultry, they are very stress relieving to watch and just enjoy.

Cathie-- a BIG plus to the new BYC if you to the message section. Begin creating a new message. As you type Michaels name in the to field his name will pop up (since he uses his real name as his screen name). I am sure Michael can find anything you want, some how all things poultry related find him. We went out to his place once & DD would have stayed all day. She was in awe at all the varieties.

If needed I can maintain a have & want list. Shouldn't be too hard right??? I do understand people not thrilled if there isn't a lot of stuff to pick from & they are wanting to buy new stock. I also understand those that are looking for something & want to guarantee to find it. Plus those traveling distance will want to make sure their is interest in the items they are bringing, so they don't have to carry it all back home.

People here can't say enough good things about Michael and for good reason. He was so kind to me when I 1st joined this board last July. I've gotten quite a few birds from him and every time I see him my respect for him goes up a notch. There's too few kind, gentle & honest people left in the world, he's one in a million.
