I guess the State didn't feel like I needed a snow day
was in training all day and have to do more tomorrow this is my 24Th year of the same old training, I wonder just how dense they must think I am to still need the same classes every year,
My birds don't seem to concerned with the snow they were all still tucked in when I left for work this morning but they've kicked most of the snow around looking for worms that were caught off guard by this bizarre attack of normal February weather LOL I'm ready for Spring now,
My Soapbox for the day

I stopped by the post office to pick up a small package today, I have instructions to them that no deliveries other than normal mail be put in my mailbox that I will make the trip to town for all packages,
The Postmaster asked me why I didn't want any packages especially if they would fit into my mailbox delivered,
I told her that things get stolen in the rural areas quite often and I don't have a door on my mailbox due to the carrier not closing it when they put things in it and the next person collecting their mail in the same row hits them with mirrors or whatever gets too close,
she said that there was going to be a mailbox improvement thing coming up and I would get a notice asking me to repair or replace my mailbox,
I ask her if the post office was going to buy the new one? she informed me that that wasn't the post offices responsibility,
I asked if it was the carrier's responsibility to close the doors on the boxes when they put mail in them? she said yes that it was.
I politely requested that she make a run of the route that my carrier has and count all the boxes that have no doors, in the row on the highway where I live there are ten boxes and eight are missing the doors all for the same reason, She says that she is new at this office and would look into it,
I've had a broken door for the last 9 years on three mailboxes the doors don't usually last more than a few months so I quit replacing them and just deal with mail being sucked out of the box by passing trucks (there is always someones mail in the ditches) and soggy wet mail when it rains, The packages being left at the post office is because the carrier puts anything that won't fit into the mailbox in a plastic bag like a
walmart sack and hangs it from the flag,
About 8 or 9 years ago I ordered several pounds of red wriggler earthworms to start a vermicomposting project and the package was stolen,
I still get a chuckle out of imagining the look on the thief's face when they opened their spoils on the dinning room table and out spills thousands of worms..
the seller in this case was very nice and had no responsibility to replace them but did at no cost I just had to cover shipping,
Okay now I'm off my Soapbox, time to go finish feeding and watering LOL
