***OKIES in the BYC III ***

AllBreeds,
meant no offense to you or the birds, and can not tell much about them regarding size or conformation, quality or even the breed for certian in the picture. I saw what at the face appeared to be a silverlaced wyadotte with larger than normal comb, honestly had no idea they were cochin especially given the frequency of the appearance of a silver laced cochin LF.

There is nothing wrong with any bird that makes the person that owns happy and serves the owners purpose. We are all in this fun little hobby for one reason or another and few for the same reasons, yet we all have experiences that can aid others, and the general fellowship is great.

DH is on his way to see you. Carefull that Nathanael doesn't smuggle any of the OEGB home with him. LOL

He made it out had a great time visiting with him.. I sent the two little off color Bug eaters (oe) home with them, and told him I woul dhave some nice ones later in the year that he could show.

There are four new ones since Friday with more expected soon. Then there are the six silkied Seramas that hatched in early January. It's like a nursery around here now and they're all so cute! The older ones are feathering out nicely. One of those is solid white, two more are white with slight darker color in spots, then the other three silkied babies are colored much like their parents. I don't know what to call the colors, but they look buff colored with brown in the feathers and some black. So far all of the new smooth feathered babies are white or white with maybe buff coloring.
i know june is looking for a silkied white hen.... can't give up my girl...:)

the egg is obviously not able to save - it really started leaking really bad...sigh...

guess i'll be waiting on an incubator this month- trying replacing the powercord for the laptop(hope thats all it is) and will be stuck with my desktop.... sigh

LOL DH has been filling me in on his idea of the incubator after seeing your set up. He is ready to build one yesterday, haha. Nathanael was very impressed with the bug eaters. He has gone out twice since I got home at 8:15 to check on them. Thanks for taking the eggs, I can't wait to see some hatchlings from our own stock.

Disclaimer: Some of the folks on this thread are addicted to hatching chickens, attending poultry auctions and otherwise acquiring poultry. Since addicts tend to be enablers, we may try to assist you in the acquisition of more poultry than you ever dreamed possible to own.

I can attest to this, I only had 6 cuckoo maran hens and 3 cuckoo maran roosters when I joined. Now we just counted it up, counting chicks (alot of those right now) we are at 135 chickens, lol. Some are just pets and like I said alot of chicks but thanks to these sweet addicts we have filled the coops completely, lol.

Welcome to the group, We live north of Harrah and south of Wellston and love this area. But we homeschool so don't have to worry about schools. Our kids could pick from Harrah, Mcloud or Wellston schools if we chose to send them to public school.

So, anybody want some good Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd adult males that are good with chickens and goats? They are protective and love to snack on possums, raccoons and such.

Buster take me, take me.

I have been gone all day and took awhile to catch up. I saw this and figured by time I got caught up I would see where they were already taken. But lo and behold didnt see any no such thing. I been looking for chicken dogs for some time. Had a pup, didnt work out. I would sure be interested in one or two of them suckers. I also been meaning to holler at you to ask if I could come down and look at your chicken tractors you got here while back. I may have located a cotton trailor and was wanting to get some ideas from yours. call me sometime and we can talk about dogs. 580-919-7691

I have to brag a little on this fellar Carl on here a little. He help bring into this world a small handfull of blue NNs this last week. That is in itself deserving of a medal.

But seriously Carl, thanks again. I enjoyed our visit and looking at your birds. I counted 54 little fuzzy butts when I put them in the brooder.
