***OKIES in the BYC III ***

hi guys- here is m new guy from coral- a very sweet boy, had a total meltdown during his bath and blowdry...LOL!

before his bath

watching all the action after his bath- I soo appreciate him coral and really sorry about the goose... darn anyway, he tried to chase her off!

Awe what a pretty boy! My 14 year old has now decided since his brother is getting chickens he wants some too. He is debating between cochin bantams and silkies. DH is saying "Great more coops that will have to be built" lol. Do you keep your Silkies inside the house or do they live in pens like the one your sweet boy is in now?

Cathie,

Seriously, hope you feel better. DH has been blaming his sore muscles on building chicken coops all week. He finally gave in and admitted he is sick.... darn man!

course you do know that kass and mitzi have cooties dont cha? just ask them, they will show you pics of them. them some dang big cooties too!

Should I give you a day or 2 to decide for sure? I can't imagine that'd be worth it to you for a bag of feed. That'd be the answer to my entire problem though. But 3 wks max will be enough, the little boys start getting black pin feathers by 2 wks. I can find someone to take the little boys or arrange to get them outa' there (without seeing them lol!) by then. That'd be wonderful! Thank you thank you! You're becoming indispensable to us all on the Okie chicken list.

I'm good I made the offer and meant it. If you all haven't figured out by now the last thing I'm in this for is the $$ I'll be fine the longer you leave them the more certian you can be.

Sure thing! Our last weekend of basketball is this weekend (YIPIEEEE). We will have to plan something. I knew I was in trouble when I got home last night and dh talked for over an hour on "incubator ideas". Then he said you both are into motorcycles..........

I am happy the boys are finally getting this whole "chicken thing". Kurt has Aspergers so getting him interested in anything that isn't computers or a book has been horrible. But he saw the banty cochins and silkies and has caught the fever, lol.

Robin - He looks so pretty now! Sorry I didn't have time to bathe him before bringing him to you.

Joe - The eggs arrived today in perfect condition. I'm letting them rest and I'll set them tomorrow. Your timing is perfect. My last big hatch just ended and I have the Sportsman cleaned and the temperature is back where it should be. I'll also be setting some Sussex, Barnevelder, Barred Rock, White Chantecler, Dark Cornish, Cornish crosses, Naked Necks, and a few Blue Andalusians.

Here are a few baby pictures: Barnevelders, White Chantecler & RIR, and Turkens.

OK went to OSU extention and picked up the incubator they said they would loan us. It is a Little Giant Still Air Incubator. They didn't have instructions so I printed some off of the internet. Anyone have tips on how to increase our sucess rate? I want the kids to experiance hatching some of our less valuable eggs. It doesn't have a turner but we have one we bought at auction a few weeks ago. Soooo now we are taking the next step in this chicken math thing!

Cathie
