***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I plan to plant some mint just haven't found any that looks worth a hoot around here yet. Will probably have to go to Tulsa to find it. I also will have sage, chives and hopefully thyme. Just love the smell when I walk by these. I have them planted in the end of the bed closest to my steps so I get a big whiff every morning as I go to work. In addition to cooking with the basil and rosemary, I rub this on my hands after I have been fishing to remove the odor. Works really well!

I love chocolate mint, smells like peppermint patty.

Well. Sometime this week I will be getting Silkie and Ameraucana eggs. Should of never went on Ebay. SMH lol But it's a LOTof Silkie eggs. (didn't think I was going to win both bids *palm to forehead*) And thankfully my dad has done this all his life so I have his expertise. But if I have a good hatch rate could I take some babies to POOPS?? They should be hatched by then?? lol

Earlier today Cjarvis and Nankat were talking about using wheat straw for a gardening project. Could anyone tell me where in the Tulsa I can get a bale of clean wheat straw? Thanks

Describe yourself, so I can remember who you was last night. I dont hardly ever set with the BYC crowd. Not snobish, just real shy. When I am on a one on one with people I do ok, but past that I go to getting nervous, and lots of things I say sound stupid. Just the way I was raised I guess, Dad was worse than me. lots of time when I was a kid and we had company, he would go out the back door when they come in the front. If I am not careful, I find myself doing that also. Funny last several years I worked for the public, you would have thought I would have got better. Anyway some time you are at an auction say hi. Sorry I missed you last night. And I learned long ago, if I am talking I cant concentrate on something I may want to buy.

We sat on the back row right in front of the table in the very back. DH is bald and we both wore our black OKC Knights hoodies. We had our 7 year old son Jack with us and our daughter Jennifer (she is 19 but looks more like 10 or 11, lol). I know how it is to get distracted. We got distracted last night and missed the french cukoo maran chicks. I'm kind of like you, I don't talk alot when in crowds, I work with the public every day and work closely with new moms and babies. I'm not exactly the outgoing type, now dh he is a talker just as Carl, lol. We will be at Newcastle next weekend, or at least that is the plan.

We havd a great time last night in Blanchard. We didn't buy much just a few dog cages (aka rooster houses, lol) some itty bitty sweet banty cochin chicks (Kurt is over the moon with them) and a pair of Light Brahma banty cochins that Jackson wanted. Had to pay dearly for those but you know when those little 7 year old blue eyes look at you and say "pleeeese" well I am a goner! Sometimes it just pays to be the baby of 6 lol.

It was great to put names and faces together. We stayed until around 11, I had held out for a few of the barred rock hens but they went for way more than I wanted to pay. I will hold out till next week, since I was advised to save some money for next week, lol.

Well gotta get back out and check on the chicks that have been sick with cocci, death toll is at 3 but haven't lost any since yesterday afternoon. Hoping and praying we don't loose anymore. These are my barred rock babies that I hope to use for breeding next year.

On our wish list for POOPS, Jackson still wants a girlfriend for his buff banty cochin rooster. Not in a rush for one since he has his set he has been wanting but he still wants a mate for his boy.

I will be bringing some blue splash marans/blue andalusion chicks if I can get some to hatch. We just put her in his pen this weekend so no eggs from her yet. Hope they have some cute babies, lol.

so your the one that bought the Bantam Buff Brahmas, I was thinking about biding on them but they went up so quick I decided I didn't need them

In Tulsa prime it might be kind of hard...Atwoods in Sapulpa might, that feed store out at German Corner North of town usually does....If you want to drive at all, Feed store in Preston (9 miles south of Glenpool on 75 highway) does and so does the Beggs general store...sure there are others, maybe closer, but that's what I can think of off the top of my head.
