i've been told as much as 5 days, i'd sure hate to toss one that just hadn't woken up- how strong does the one sound that is hatching? this is a pic of 4 week old lucky, i had to help, cause he was getting weak, i thought he was a goner, but did mouth to beak and he slowly came out of it, i did have to deal with spraddle though- never know it now- put him under the broody when he started to pip and she crunched the shell- and he had pipped at the wrong end

The one that is hatching sounds fine, he cheeps at times and seems to be working in spurts on getting out. I sure hope the others hatch he is a little banty cochin and will be lonely without anyone else his age to brood with.

How much land do you have to have to get one. Also what are some of the other qualifications. I buy lots of feed, materials, birds etc. Been thinking about looking into it, but was told 5 acres is not enough land to qualify.

I had 5 acres that was my inlaws and I had about 25 to 30 birds and I got one. At the new place I have 2 acres that is mine and I just got mine renewed. I have been told that if yuo have any tractor, running or not that you pretty much qualify.

I hav been incubating the las few yes and I let the chicks naturally hatch... However if they havent broke thru in 24 hrs thats wild.
If tue egg is opening and the seemed to he having problems I help a little and before I started
Hatching on a large scale I would still give them a few days extra....as does a hen...

There is a beautiful, sweet smelling tree/shrub that is blooming on the property line of mine and my neighbor's house. I used to know what it's called, but can't, for the life of me remember right now. It's in bloom now and has butterflies all over it. By all over it, I mean HUNDREDS of butterflies. Today I captured photos of just a few.

We bought this place last July and didn't know what most of the trees and bushes were. We have a very large one of these near the kitchen door and I have really been enjoying it

There are yellow and white honeysuckle on the back fence, very much like the orange I am familiar with in Kansas. I could believe that this bush with the tiny white flowers could be in the same family. Smells like it to me but the my sense of smell like everything else isn't quite what it used to be.

Doing a cuttler supply order, anyone need anything? can get it to you @poops or at one of the auctions. You can Paypal the funds or even COD.

Will do the order by 10 tonight, yes I know short notice! I am needing the bantam size egg trays since I will be able to hold an extra 11 guinea eggs per tray. 6 trays that is 66 more guinea eggs!

Figured I would offer if anyone else needs anything, since shipping is so high @ there site & I can't find any coupon codes!

just my 2 cents worth... I learned this the hard way...be sure to get the one that's labeled for dogs, too. They have two versions, both in a white bottle and one is for horses only and can be dangerous to other animals. The one that's labeled for dogs also is safe for other critters. Good thing I have horses, the extra bottle didn't go to waste. Label info here >> http://www.farnamhorse.com/pdf_label/Bronco_all.pdf

Love those butterfly pics! We've been smelling the same flowers for a few days when we sit out on the front porch in the evening. I don't see any nearby, but they sure do smell wonderful. Been wondering what they were. They almost smell like a lilac, but not quite.

Rain just started here. I knew it would, DH mowed today.
